Torture by The USA – “When Laws are Outlawed…”

13 07 2010

… only Outlaws will have Laws.”

That means the rest of Us, I guess.  The rest of the US Citizenry other than Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove, Gonzales, the weasels in Justice, the NSC, the NSA, the CIA, Blackwater, KBR, the Carlysle Group, Halliburton…  the list goes on and on, so long as Your a republican, or a democrat in congress over the past 10 years who acquiesced to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” white house briefings to the point where they are worried about being co-conspirators implicated in any action towards impeachment and public trials.

Which we need, to repair the rule of law.

Here’s a snip of the very disturbing ACLU report on torture, with Glenn Greenwald of Salon commenting:

Wake Up.  Stand Up.  Stand Up for Your Rights.  ’nuff said?

April 5, 2010, and Still WaitingForTheFederals

10 04 2010

Here’s the latest video I’ve had a chance to upload from the weekly jams I’ve been recording.

The tale is told of slaves in the American South at the end of the Civil War singing this to one another, hearing the gunboats coming up the river.

An online search turned up this accounting of lyrics.  More importantly, it turned up this banjo rendition.  It seems a useful reference archetypal symbol, musically speaking.  Moreover, I found this awesome list!

Since February 1, 2010, I have been posting video of the old time jam and hobo music at John’s Pub in Mystic CT on monday nites (the jam, not the posting).

All are mirrored at

I hope You Enjoy these as much as I have enjoyed making them!

Cheers, Dave Manchester

Joe Stack’s Final Act – Full Statement

18 02 2010
18 February, 2010 – This morning a software engineer and small businessman in Austin TX flew a plane into a building housing an IRS office and other businesses. His name was Joe Stack. He had reached the end of his rope in frustration about our existing political, economic, and judicial system. He decided to rise up and revolt. So he flew a plane into this building.
I do not agree with that. But I think his concerns are the concerns of more than a majority of Americans. So I think he should be heard.
Here is his complete statement, posted on his site embeddedart.com, this morning. (It’s on Scribd:
Although embeddedart.com has been taken down due to a request from the FBI, the site owner’s last post has been captured by the Smoking Gun here:

Judge says Phoenix church cannot feed homeless | Phoenix News | Arizona News | azfamily.com | Local News

13 11 2009

Thanks to an idiot judge, a venal judiciary, intolerant neighbors, a few complaints, and inflexible zoning, Phoenix AZ is setting a new low: No church within the City Limits of Phoenix may feed the homeless. Zoning doesn’t allow it. And the idiot judge annointed by a venal judiciary ordered such charitable acts to stop.  Way to go, dumbass. Makes me wonder when they’ll start shooting lawyers in Arizona. -dcm
